ANATOMY OF THE KNEE
The knee is one of the most important joints in the human body, it has a complex structure and consists of two joints:
• Tibiofibular joint
• Patellofemoral joint
The knee joint is a weight-bearing joint of the human body capable of withstanding heavy loads. Within the knee joint are the inner and outer menisci, cartilaginous structures that absorb body weight and distribute it evenly, while simultaneously reducing friction during walking.
KNEE INJURIES AND DISORDERS
• Meniscus injury
• Injury to the anterior cruciate ligament
• Patellofemoral syndrome (runner’s knee)
• Gonarthrosis (osteoarthritis of the knee)
• Baker’s cyst
Treatment is tailored to individual needs, taking into account age, general health status, and the degree of knee damage.
