The hand consists of 27 bones, ligaments, tendons, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels.

• The bones of the hand are mostly small, but each plays an important role in normal functionality. They are divided into the bones of the wrist, the forearm, and the finger joints.

• The joints of the hand are divided into seven groups.

• The muscles of the hand are categorized into intrinsic and extrinsic muscles.

• The ligaments of the hand provide stability to the joints during movement.

Due to excessive use and pressure, the hand is often prone to injuries and disorders. The most common symptoms that may indicate a problem include limited range of motion, pain, swelling, loss of strength, etc.

The most common injuries and diseases of the hand are:

• Hand fracture

• Carpal tunnel syndrome

• Skier’s thumb

• Thumb base osteoarthritis (rhizarthrosis)

• De Quervain’s Disease

• Dupuytren’s contracture

In our practice, we provide adequate help and treatment to patients with physical therapy and appropriate exercises.
